The Tennis Experience, part of the Elite Sports Performance Expo, at London’s ExCeL is only a month away (June 15th-16th) so we talked to Connected Club’s Hugo Allen, project manager for The Tennis Experience, about preparations for the upcoming event, what inspired him to put it together and why you should go along and enjoy the show.

Can you tell us about the Tennis Experience in one sentence?

A chance to see the latest innovations in the Tennis market including Point of Contact Training, world class video analysis technology and the latest training aids.

What inspired you to put it together?

I strongly believe that coaches, whether working with grass roots or elite athletes, must be constant innovators. The best coaches are always learning and finding new methods and training aids to help their players develop. However, many coaches never get the opportunity to see the very latest innovations all in one place and for free. The Elite Sports Performance show and the Tennis Experiences gives the perfect opportunity to do just that.

Which part of the experience do you think you would have benefited most from when you were starting out as a coach?

I think access to training resources and professional advice would have been incredibly beneficial. In addition to the Tennis Experience there are a huge range of seminars which provide invaluable industry updates.

How are preparations going?

With just over a month to go before the show opens on 15th June preparations are going very well and the final elements are coming together. We have some amazing partners including Codamotion, Playrite, Racket Sport Services and Cheers Mate Productions and we are all working incredibly hard to offer clubs, coaches and players the best possible experience.

What part of the experience are you most excited about?

I am very excited to be launching over 10 new products to the UK at the show- I can’t say too much just yet but they will be worth attending for! I am also looking forward to meeting a huge range of coaches and clubs and sharing knowledge.
